Christoph Wolff - Head of Future Mobility Systems at World Economic Forum

In this episode Jonathan talks with Christoph Wolff who is the Head of Future of Mobility Systems at the World Economic Forum. The episode was recorded in New York where the two met at the local WEF office to talk about the work of Christoph and his team within the space of mobility. Christoph was senior partner at McKinsey for 16 years heading the global work in logistics and infrastructure. As Board member of DB Schenker, he was responsible for the international growth and operations of the company´s rail division.

After obtaining his phd in Computer Science back in the 90s, Patrick van der Smagt showcases an interesting journey that includes the German Aerospace Center and a professorship at the Technical University of Munich he now is heading the fundamental research lab of the Volkswagen Group for machine Learning, deep learning, quantum machine learning and robotics. 

We met up with Patrick in Munich at the lab and talked about his professional life and his views on the space of machine learning and A.I both from a research and application perspective.

Dr. Andreas Liebl - Managing Director at UnternehmerTUM

As the managing director of UnternehmerTUM GmbH, Andreas Liebl is responsible for the appliedAI initiative with partners such as Google and NVIDIA. With 40 partners, the initiative is one of the largest initiatives in Europe in the field of applied artificial intelligence and answers the organizational, technological and strategic questions of companies in the use of AI. Before joining UnternehmerTUM, he worked for McKinsey for five years and did his doctorate at the Chair of Entrepreneurship at the Technical University of Munich. In his doctoral thesis, he accompanied 120 start-ups for a year and examined their corporate culture and identity.

Vivek Makhija - Head of E-Mobility and Advanced Biofuels at Shell

Vivek is a great guy who is leading the activities of Shell within the space of E-Mobility and Advanced Biofuels. Essentially in his role he had the great opportunity in being part of the big revolution happening in the mobility space by setting the corner stone for the necessary infrastructure. 

We talk about the perceived adaption rate of e-mobility, infrastructure, elon musk and Tesla. 

Immanuel Schweizer - Head of A.I. Research at Merck KGaA

Immanuel Schweizer is the Head of A.I Research at the corporate giant Merck KGaA. 

We talk many thing but more or less dive deeper into the use of machine learning to create personalised medication and the possibilities of fighting cancer and developing new solutions to problems with data and algorithms that were previously untapped.

Antti Rantanen is one of the Founders of Avanto Ventures, a leading corporate venturing advisory in the Nordics. He has worked in various advisory roles for 20+ years in the forefront of Digital Transformation, through companies such as Accenture, Vibe, Avaus Consulting and advised leading European companies in various industries. He has also been involved in starting several companies during his career, from his own ventures to setting up new ventures for larger corporations.

Currently as the Co-Founder and COO he is taking up the massive challenge of building out the biggest physical ecosystem of everything related to mobility in the city of Rotterdam.
