Bart Voorn - Director A.I & Robotics at Ahold Delhaize

Bart is currently leading the activities within A.I & Robotics at the Dutch-Belgian retail company Ahold Delhaize. With an annual revenue of 66.26 billion Euro (2019) the company employs over 300.000 people worldwide. Together with Bart we are talking about the current activities within A.I and Robotics from a retail perspective and how he is pushing forward the application of it within the organization.

 

Bart is also the Co-Founder of the AIRLab (A.I for retail lab) with the goal to conduct research into socially responsible algorithms that can be used to make recommendations to consumers and into transparent AI technology for managing goods flows. 

We dive into the culture of Ahold Delhaize and discuss how the organization keeps a high drive for innovation while operating on thin margins. 

 

 

Bernd Heinrichs - CDO Mobility Solutions at Bosch

On this episode I am talking with Bernd Heinrichs who currently is the Chief Digital Officer Mobility Solutions at Bosch. At Bosch he and his team are developing new mobility solutions to generate new business for Bosch's customers and Bosch. 

 

We are talking about possible future business models through the use of automotive data and what it means to develop new partnerships between OEMs and hardware + software suppliers. Beyond that we touch upon the transformation and major investments Bosch is undertaking in order to build out the proper technological competence such as Bosch's center for artificial intelligence. 

 

André Loesekrug-Pietri - Chairman at J.E.D.I

André Loesekrug-Pietri, of both French and German nationality, held leadership positions in private equity, government, industry and as an entrepreneur. Starting as assistant to the CEO of Aerospatiale-Airbus, he then spent 15 years in private equity and venture capital, including 10 years with China, investing in European companies with global ambitions. In 2017, he paused from the private sector to become Special Advisor to the French Minister of Defence, responsible in particular for European Defense policy as well as technology and innovation. He is the Chairman of the Joint European Disruptive Initiative (J.E.D.I.), aiming to accelerate France and Germany’s leadership in disruptive technology.

Christian Baur - CEO at Swisslog

As the CEO Christian was instrumental in the transformation of Swisslog Logistics Automation in becoming the pioneer for software solutions in supply chain management and specialist for data and robot-driven logistics and automation solutions. Furthermore
he increased the global presence of Swisslog, as the company is currently active more than 50 successful projects with partners like Coca-Cola, Arla Foods, IKEA or Alnatura
implements.

Together with Christian we talk about the way his company is using data in order to develop new business models and building out software competences in order to develop smart solutions. 

Dirk Ramhorst - CDO at WACKER

Dirk Ramhorst is a pioneer within the german corporate world. He started out as the first Chief Digital Officer of a German DAX company in 2013 at BASF.

Currently he is the CDO and CIO of the chemical company Wacker with an annual revenue of almost €5 billion. Together with Dirk we talk about the role of a CDO in accelerating transformation and innovation inside organizations. Dirk talks about how he structured the digital strategy for Wacker and what he has learned from pioneering as a CDO. 

 

Timo Möller - Head of McKinsey Center of Future Mobility

Rasmus Rothe: Building and Scaling A.I Ventures

Rasmus Rothe studied Computer Science at Oxford, Princeton and ETH Zurich. 

After a short stay at Google he co-founded Merantix: A Berlin-based venture studio building transformative AI companies in industries such as healthcare and automotive.

Through its focus on A.I Merantix is fulfilling a unique position as a venture studio announcing the raise of a €25 million fund to build eight companies in the upcoming years. Together with Rasmus we are talking on the opportunities for specialized venture studios and the future of intelligent products. We are tackling the current landscape touching upon the affect Covid-19 and the long-term outlook for the applied A.I within the corporate world. As the Co-Founder of the German A.I association Rasmus has a second role with the goal to represent German A.I start-ups to collaborate with the German government. Since its establishment the German A.I association has developed close ties with the government and is working jointly on the national A.I strategy.

In 2011 he co-founded his first company easyautosale, which was successfully acquired by Autoscout24. 

With his current company Cluno he co-founded the first German car subscription company in 2017.
